Navajo Youth is an electro-pop solo artist. navajo youth as an artist came in to existence mid-2009. it is a conscious choice that the songs of navajo youth blend commercial pop sounds with inspiration from independent music. navajo youth adorns these songs heartfelt lyrics to form a prospect that is unique among his contemporaries. inspired by current electro-pop artists (passion pit, frankmusik), navajo youth also finds inspiration in classic pop music (duran duran, hall and oates) and artists that he considers to be true storytellers (sufjan stevens, bright eyes). navajo youth draws visual inspiration from the native american tradition, and does so in a manner which he believes to be respectful, and a sign of his admiration for such a beautiful culture. the work of navajo youth draws aspects from both the modern world in which we live, and the nature that surrounds us. themes of woodlands and cosmology often surface through the lyrics of navajo youth and the visual style that he adopts.

Upon the strength of an early demo, navajo youth has been signed to killpop records, an independent label run by frankmusik and eli smith. killpop will be releasing his first commercial ep. prior to this ep, navajo youth will be releasing a number of free downloads via the website. the first download, entitled ‘emily’ is a single track. however, the second download, ‘animal’, will be a 3 track ep.

Trying to pigeonhole Nottingham three-piece The Black Fuzz is like trying to shove a canoe into a blender, it just isn’t going to happen - what’s more, why would you want to? Known for their raucous performances and their scruffy rock swagger they put everything into live performances and will burn up the stage with kinetic energy. So, there’s a gun to our head and we have to sum up the sound – where do we start? Take the best of The Subways and then sprinkle it with a little White Stripes. Then, like a Great White Shark, drag that combination out into the deep water and as it thrashes about, start stripping it to the bare bones – the sound it makes as you tear into its flesh is the unique sound of The Black Fuzz. Or, put another way, their songs are edgy, catchy and steeped in real emotion.
