THE SUNSHINE UNDERGROUND :: COSMO JARVIS :: 51 BREAKS

The Sunshine Underground have announced details of the release of their second album in early 2010. The band will also be touring the UK in February around its release. Nobody’s Coming To Save You will be released through City Rockers /EMI on February 1st 2010 and follows their debut album, Raise The Alarm. The album will be preceded by a single, We’ve Always Been Your Friends on January 25th. The 10-track album was produced by the band and Barny (Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian) and recorded during a 4-week period at the Chairworks Studio in West Yorkshire.

Still as stirring and anthemic as ever, Nobody’s Coming To Save You, adds something more – it’s the sound of The Sunshine Underground enhanced. Still laced with musical nods towards the likes of Talking Heads, the album is deeper, heavier and more expansive. And in keeping with the cultural and political times, the songs are populated by souls weighed-down with longing and anticipation while dealing head-on with the frustrations and political resentments of the UK during this moment of history. Following a string of festival dates and sold-out tours throughout 2009, where they road-tested new material, and a number of chaotic ‘guerilla’ gigs in November which they only announced 24-hours in advance via their website, the band have announced a U.K. tour around the album release.

The band’s Everything, Right Now EP is out now and features artwork from a project run by the band in September/October inviting art submissions from their fans on the theme Your Love, Your Hopes, Your Fears – a lyric from the title track of the album. The album artwork is now being designed by a designer the band discovered through this project.

Cosmo Jarvis is a new kind of artist, for whom one world will never be enough. He’s a songwriter and a singer, but he’s also a filmmaker, storyteller, poet, iconoclast, Jessica Alba enthusiast and campaigner for the equal treatment of gay pirates. He’s an ordinary teenager with extraordinary talents. Wall Of Sound MD Mark Jones will release Cosmo’s eponymous debut album ‘Cosmo Jarvis’ this November. “Cosmo is without a shadow of doubt the most raw talent I’ve ever come across in all my years in music,” he says. “Every day I’m blown away by his natural ability and depth of musical and lyrical content. He has been truly blessed with an ability to speak to people of all ages and backgrounds and has an incredible future ahead of his. I hope the world is ready.”

51 Breaks take influences from Bruce Springsteen, through to The Sunshine Underground and Good Books. They make songs that take epic sounds civilized into time and tune, whilst expressing what even words can not say. With 3 part harmonies, electro beats and orchestral arrangements this is music made from passions and ideas that are free from restraint. Follow the advice of the NME and ‘’get out and see them’’ Having supported bands including The Maccabees, Captain, Cooper Temple Claus, The Infadels, Little Man Tate & Pure Reason Revolution, 51 Breaks have established a live show based upon catchy hooks, room filling sounds and high tempo performances. 51 breaks continue to build a dedicated fan base whilst pushing their sound into new directions.
