Mark Morriss is an English singer-songwriter. He is the lead singer for the The Bluetones, and is the older brother of bandmate Scott Morriss. He is also pursuing a solo career. His debut solo album, Memory Muscle, was released in May 2008. A gentler, folk-tinged record, it includes five re-recorded tracks which had previously been released under the name “Fi-Lo Beddow” as an EP in February 2006.
The Bluetones need no introduction to The Rockhouse. 2005's sellout show at the venue saw some of the FASTEST ticket sales ever for a Derby based concert! The band's biggest hit, "Slight Return", was released in 1995 (as a double A-side with "The Fountainhead") and re-released on its own the following year. They have achieved thirteen Top 40 singles and three Top 10 albums in the UK charts.
Mark plays solo at THIS IS HOW IT FEELS on 28th August. Expect some new material - and plenty of BLUETONES hits!!!! Support comes from Derby gob-artist JAMES CAPPER, 60's Mod Song-smiths THE TELEPHONES and the electrical know how of TOM CAMPBELL!
DJ MICKY SHEEHAN and DJ BRETT JAMES complete the night by going head to head in both rooms at The Rockhouse. Expect madchester, britpop, baggy and mod classics from Micky in the main room, while newcomer Brett keeps THIS IS HOW IT FEELS bang up to date by playing the best in UK rock and indies new breed/influenced by the bands that make This Is How It Feels Derby's best retro indie night. Brett plays The Twang, Libertines, The Enemy, Kasabian and anything chart worryingly obvious with a critical link to the classic indie bands of the past!
