Born out of Sheffield, Smugglers Run have been described as 'hardcore indie' fusing most genres of rock. Through supporting The Paddingtons, Baddies, and Pan I Am, and also selling out the O2 Academy in Sheffield, the band have generated a huge fan base in the city. With an EP in the pipeline, and regular gigs across the land, it seems that Smugglers Run are one of the hardest working and playing bands in the country. This is definitely a space to watch in the very near future.
The Roulette are a three piece rock n roll band. With influences such as Jimi Hendrix, The Stone Roses, and The Libertines. They provide an exciting and energetic live performance guaranteed to leave you wanting more.
The Insight are four lads who first met at Derby University in September 2006. After discovering that they had so much in common, (a good few months of alcohol-fuelled carnage and hangovers down the line) the lads, sharing a similar taste for The Smiths, Joy Division, Oasis etc etc, decided to get together and have a go at playing some music.
After months and months of jamming, the four lads finally found their feet and formed as The Insight properly in February 2008. They now find themselves playing gigs regularly across Derby and the Midlands. Often being likened to great bands such as The Smiths, Interpol, The Coral and The Libertines (all bands that they name as big influences), the Insight have also been credited with having their ‘own’ fresh exciting sound. The Insight recorded their debut EP, entitled Tripping On Egos in April 2008. This EP features songs including ‘Tripping On Egos‘, ‘Did You Keep The Receipt?’, and ‘(Not The Only One) Running Away’.
The Praha Youth are a four-piece indie rock and roll band from Derby. Formed in 2006, Pete, Josh, Jack and Rob have gone on to play countless amounts of gigs around Derby and the East Midlands and South Yorkshire.
