Gig Guide: Fri 12th Jun

Fri 12th Jun 20:00 YOUNG GUNS :: NEW EDUCATION :: SILENT FILM PROJECT

Within the space of a year, Young Guns have already created a large loyal fanbase who follow them passionately around the Midlands singing their songs back at them. Featuring well written personal lyrics depicting real life situations in a conversational manner ala Alex Turner, while the music takes influence from some of the noughties most influential bands like Arctic Monkeys, The Courteeners and The Kooks.

New Education formed at the start of 2008, comprising Ryan and Jack Dooley, David Cartwright and John Bradbury. After getting signed to Kids Records, and putting out their first single ‘Today’ they look to go even further. They went out on tour with The Rifles in March 2009 and will also be releasing their second single ‘Another Miracle’ soon.

Silent Film Project bash out jangly indie smothered in boy/girl vocal harmonies. They are a young five piece hailing from the North of England, and create what has been described as “Music so feelgood it should be available on the NHS” An indie folk feel that you can’t help but get hooked to, bags of melody and beautiful vocals SFP are a fun, bubbly band who will charm your socks off before you’ve even realised. They demonstrate immense validity in a scene awash with countless bands. This outfits song-writing skills are one of its major strengths.
