The Bloodstock festival is again taking to the streets in order to find the best UK unsigned talent for next year’s festival! They'll be out on the road, working in conjunction with partner venues and promoters via a series of clubnights throughout the land. With Bloodstock Open Air being the most committed event to highlight breakthrough metal its understandable why it’s endorsed and supported by the likes of exclusive media partner Metal Hammer. Alongside others such as Terrorizer, Kerrang!, Scuzz, Rockworld, Total Rock and BBC Online.

Derby is the home of The Bloodstock Festival and therefore Derby’s relaunching venue, ‘The Rockhouse’ is proud to be the home of the Metal 2 The Masses for the area. Every month bands will perform at Battle for Bloodstock to secure a place at the Metal 2 The Masses showcase with the chance to earn a slot at The Bloodstock Open Air Metal Festival on 14th, 15th and 16th August 2009. The first Battle For Bloodstock takes place on Saturday 17th January 2009 and then every 3rd Saturday of the month until the final Metal 2 The Masses showcase on Saturday 16th May 2009.

Please Nurse No who are a 5 Piece Band based in Derby with influences from all genres this band bring a fresh feel to the metal scene, with new styles and structures this band has something for everyone. Complex, melodic riffs matched with tight rhythm and bass add to the power.

Abacination make angry music for people who are sick of the constant lies they are fed every day. Surrounded by 3-chord-wonder pop punk, emo and classic rock bands, Abacination seized the opportunity to wow crowds with a blend of metal which was forged as a violent mixture of thrash, hardcore, death and grindcore. The music is aggressive, their lyrics are venomous and their message is clear. The world is full of liars, cheaters and hypocrites that feed on the blind ignorance of others.

Punisher Are A Four Piece Thrash Metal Band From Derby, Who Formed In Late 2006. Punisher Take influence from countless bands and genres including thrash, groove metal, black/death metal, progressive metal (the list goes on...) and fuse these sounds together to form what they call Scrap Metal.
