The Kull
- "The renegades of the nottingham music scene are fast becoming the toast of london. The achingly beautiful sound of sonic warfare"
NME

"Shows are explosive exciting, intriguing and intense. The melodic soundscapes, profound waves of guitars and vocals transfix audiences, holding them with a raw, breathless mind-melt of pure adrenaline and an over whelming sense of conviction to their cause . They create a massive wall of densely packed power with subtle influences of …. the cure, the verve and spaceman 3 , twinned with the same sinister yet uplifting undertones of bands such as the velvet underground and joy division….. To watch them, The Kull are intense, intelligent and inspiring they bring optimism and leave you with intrigue, a skill most bands spend their careers failing to achieve."

"The Kull bring emotion, intimacy and hope. Transference is a dynamic and poignant record that uncovers a barrage of emotions as it soars through darkness and light. It is an amazing debut album from a band that has managed their career on instinct, passion and a will of their own. Indeed, that is the point with the Kull; its real, it’s them, and you feel it."

Nixa
Nixa are rock. They’re here to remind you that despite reality TV, plastic indie tat, the cult of celebrity, and production-line pop, ultimately it’s still all about the music. They write great songs, and have a lot of fun while they’re doing it – and that’s their manifesto. Fundamentally, they just love music and want music to love them back, and as a result they have so many riffs that they’re currently being investigated by The Monopolies Commission. Multi-layered and yet accessible to anyone who’s ever felt adrenaline surge through their veins, Nixa songs combine addictive melodies, intertwining vocals, riotous screaming, ferocious guitars, pulsing drums, and dirty bass to create an energetic morass that climbs the walls and rips the roof off. Nixa was born in the summer of 2006 after a massive gangbang involving Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro, Soulwax and Death Cab for Cutie: the custody battle still rages... center>

The Enthused

THE ENTHUSED was formed in January '08 from the remaining members of Nuneaton band, E-Mission. They now play as a 3-piece consisting of Matt George (guitar/vocals), Ian George (bass), and Chris Hone (drums). They play energetic alternative rock reminiscent of Jimmy Eat World and Foo Fighters, also retaining elements of their older sound derived from punk influences such as Green Day. The music you hear above are old recordings from previous band E-Mission, which will no longer be part of the band's set. They have recently written a whole bunch of new material which can be heard at their forthcoming live shows.

O Lovely Lie
The product of ex-members of several Nottingham bands possessing a common desire to play the music they want to listen to, O' Lovely Lie came together in 2005 when brother and sister Richard and Gemma Upton met bassist Ruth Cottam and drummer Ben Hallam. The band’s raw chemistry was immediately apparent, and keyboardist Anna Robinson was brought in soon after to bring a new dimension to the band’s sound and create a unique musical style. At times brutal and brooding ballads, which build up into an abrasive whirling melodic wall of sound, whilst at other times ragingly manic, their sound always retains a pop element. Drawing on bands such as The Cure, Joy Division, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Sonic Youth, Chameleons, Velvet Underground and the Smashing Pumpkins for inspiration, they fertilised the foundations of the sounds they heard in their heads. Characterised by textured guitars, beautiful harmonies, heavy bass lines and pounding drums, years of experimentation and ideology have led to O’ Lovely Lie’s distinctively powerful sound. O’ Lovely Lie have recently recorded their first full length album, "No In, No Out, No Echo" Check out www.olovelylie.co.uk to hear clips of all the tracks!
