Gig Guide: Sun 30th Nov
Sun 30th Nov 20:00 SPARTACUS LIVE - Twin Atlantic / I Am The Door / Decora
Twin Atlantic
Fast rising Glasgow rocker, Twin Atlantic, follow up their well recieved 'A Guidance From Colour' EP, self-released earlier this year, with a brand new single in the shape of 'What Is Light? Where is Laughter?'. Produced once again by Romesh Dodangoda (Funeral For A Friend, Kids in Glass Houses). Having created quite the buzz with the aforementioned EP, a showstopping performance at T in the Park, as well as support slots alongside The Smashing Pumpkins, Biffy Clyro, Funeral For A Friend and Oceansize, 'What Is Light? What is Laughter?' perfectly showcases just why you simply cannot ignore the Scottish quartet.
I Am The Door
Based in Bristol their debut album 'Frequency' was released in October 2006. After picking up pace through constant touring of the country for the last 3 years, two members of the band decided to call it day. Leaving the Percival brothers; Justin and Alex with a lot of soul searching. However, people have always known that optimism and perseverance are key ingredients in success. Hence the old saying: "If at first you don’t succeed; try and try again."
Decora
"ENERGETIC, AWESOME, EDGY AND LOUD" Jo Whiley - Radio 1
"Raw, heavy and melodic" Rob Sandall, editor of Playmusic
2007 was a great year for Decora seeing the band play their 250th show, get a debut release on itunes, an interview from the BBC and share the stage with heroes, Reuben. Two tours of the UK , three gigs in one day and shows at In The City and Sound Festival kept the boys busy. They spent time at Rak studios working with Helen Atkinson, protege to heavy weight producer Adrian Bushby (engineered the latest FooFighters Album - Echoes, Silence Patience and Grace) with Adrian on hand to oversee proceedings. Rak was the studio in which Radiohead recorded the bends and more recently, the Arctic Monkeys made a flying visit to record a live take for the video of Teddy Picker. Receiving radio play from BBC Wiltshire and underground music stalwarts such Total Rock and Pulse Unsigned, along with airings from as far a field as the Serbian alternative radio station Breaking the Silence, Decora have recently topped the charts of cult web-zine Subba-Cultcha.
