SPARTACUS LIVE - Viva Machine / Midas / Tristan Ash / Kick Superb

Viva Machine
Swansea based four piece who manipulate the best bits of American indie and modern disco-pop to create quite a formidable sound. Incredibly contagious tunes are aided by lashing guitars and lush harmonies with a powerful rhythm section. They’ve already had a lot of airplay and appearances on televisions The Guest List and a slot on ITV. Their currently on a headline tour promoting single “My Jet Set Radio” which is available at all good record shops, and some bad ones as well.

Midas
Stourbridge based quintet emerging from a resurgent Midlands scene who deliver songs of passion, intensity and energy. Combining powerful guitars, electro stabs and tight rhythms the band creates an immensely unique sound. March 2007 saw the bands debut single 'Don't Dance' enter the UK singles chart at 59 and number 3 in the Indie Chart. Second Single 'Red Shoes' was released on the band's own indie label 'Plastic Tank Records' quickly selling out of its limited C.D run and clocked up numerous downloads. After spending the summer months on the road touring with American Shiny Toy Guns, as well as taking in festivals in the U.K & Venice Midas are keen to play the University circuit with a number of gigs lined up at Student Unions before undertaking their own headlining nationwide tour in early December.

Tristan Ash weaves acoustic roots around his listeners with a style that has been compared to early Ben Harper and Incubus' acoustic sessions. One too many painful landings in a childhood of thrill seeking left Tristan Ash recovering from a broken back in his late teens. Tristan found solace picking and strumming at the rusty strings of his late Grandfathers self-made guitar. With a career in board-sports looking doubtful Tristan channelled his energy into crafting his own sound. His songs capture the energy of his experiences with refreshing tones of positivity reminiscent of Bob Marley and Sublime.

Kick Superb

Newport's brightest new sparks recently released their debut single Quit the Ordinary to rapturous acclaim. Reminiscent of The Undertones and The Jam, their tuneful formula is both powerful and addictive - The Fly Magazine
