Gig Guide: Fri 3rd Oct

Fri 3rd Oct 19:30 Jamie Joseph & The Jives / The Virgin Marys / Six Weeks Falling / Luke Wynne

Jamie Joseph & The Jives
This Derby based group are hugely influenced by music of the sixties, where they believe music was from the heart. Led by a soulful vocal and saxophonist, they aim to bring that sound, and heart, to todays ears with their upbeat meanderings through everyday lives and slick homegrown tunes which bring a warmth and fire to the musical scene not heard since the days of Otis singing on a crackling LP.

The Virgin MarysThey mix blues & psychadelia with heavy rock'n'roll, creating a dark and powerful sound that resonates influence from the late 60s and 70s. They are often compared to Led Zepplin, Hawkwind, Pink Floyd and Wolfmother. They spent 3 months in LA recording and performing but are now back in the UK bringing their explosive stage show to you lucky people.

Six Weeks Falling
A new band from around the Burton on Trent area. They haven't been together long but have but already written a powerful, varied set-list.

Luke Wynne
Singer/songwriter from Derby. Started at the age of 14 on various instruments and developed a love of many types of music which you can hear in his music.
