Pick for 2005 "A punk rock band with a social conscience isn't anything new, but combined with the passion, sincerity and downright tunefullness of Johnny Panic, its enough to make us sit up and listen." - Rock Sound
Pitchblend
"Refreshingly vital and just so goddamned earnest, Pitchblend are the great white hope of 2008; pre-ordained for success by the Gods of Rock themselves" - Rocksound

"Warm vocals and chiming guitars abound" - Kerrang!
Max Raptor quietly got on with developing their set and live show playing around the Derby area and at the end of 2007 they were ready to take things to the next level. Major gigs at The Barfly and a Kerrang! And HMV showcase gig in Birmingham have shown the rise in popularity and recognition the band have received. They had a recording session in January followed by a UK tour pencilled in for later this year.
King Furnace
Oxford based King Furnace have built up a reputation for their energetic and entertaining live shows, impressing with their spiky, melodic, twisted, proggy, alternative pop rock… In 2006 and 2007 King Furnace completed several tours of England, Northern Ireland and Scotland. They received rave reviews and airplay for their debut single ‘Crash’ released through cult Oxford label ‘Akuaba Records’ (available on iTunes) and were featured in Computer Arts and Devolution Magazine. King Furnace were also commissioned to provide the soundtrack for Sky TV’s coverage of the ‘Eurodrift’ Driftcar Racing Series.
In 2008 the band are building up a head of steam, generating more airplay, industry interest and high-profile gigs, including a headline slot at the 3000 capacity Y-Not Festival in Derbyshire and the Oxford Punt Festival. The band has also been nominated this year for an Indy Award in the ‘Best Rock Artist’ category. Their fantastic ‘Anatomy’ music video was shot at Shepperton Studios and is currently being finalised at the award winning Sequence Post-Productions at Pinewood Studios. King Furnace will be releasing and touring two more singles before they release their debut album in autumn.
