The competition aims to put the spotlight on the Derby music scene and give the local bands exposure and hopefully reach new audiences. There are two sections one is for 18s and under and one for 18s and over. Heat two for 18s and over features…

Sinatra - 2008 will now see Sinatra kicking off the shackles of the practice room and heading out on the road. They are influenced by bands like Oceansize and Mogwai

Vim and Vigor - Formed March 2005. Live they create some pretty intense and twisted sounds.

The Souvenirs - On first listen to The Souvenirs. You can hear the influences aplenty. The Smiths, The Kinks, The Who, Morrissey and a whole host of other acts. With catchy hooks, strong lyrics and solid rhythms, they have increased their fanbase in Derby in a short space of time, adding to it every live show. More and more people are waking up the sound of The Souvenirs.

Seraph - Currently in the process of working on new material and playing local venues.

Alien Angels - Only been together a short while, but have already achieved a lot. They are currently writing and recording material for a demo. With loads of live experience under their belts the Angels are looking to take it to the next level by building their fan base and gigging around the UK. Their influences include Fightstar, Nickleback, Lostprophets and Steve Vai
