Captain join us on their UK tour promoting their new album ‘Distraction’ (released on EMI records), following their debut album ‘This Hazelville’. This album will see the band pushing themselves in a newer, braver direction, with big riffs and heavier sounds likened to the Smashing Pumpkins and “poppier” tunes echoing The Cure, and The Beach Boys. Their self titled melodramatic pop, crossed with surf, indie, rock and whatever-you-want-to-call-it music, has already received airplay on XFM, and has been play listed on BBC Radio 6 by Steve Lamacq. First single off the album ‘Animal’ was released in January and was given ‘Vinyl of the Week’ by the NME.
 
Leon have already gigged with Mylo, KT Tunstall, Hot Chip and in Europe with the Bloodhound Gang. Debut album ‘Uppers and Downers’ received rave reviews from NME, Q and Daily Mirror. The singles gained airplay on XFM, Radio 2 (with Jonathan Ross), BBC 6 Music and Kerrang FM. New songs have just been recorded with a new album in the pipelines.

Max Raptor quietly got on with developing their set and live show playing around the Derby area and at the end of 2007 they were ready to take things to the next level. Major gigs at The Barfly and a Kerrang! And HMV showcase gig in Birmingham have shown the rise in popularity and recognition the band have received. They had a recording session in January followed by a UK tour pencilled in for later this year.
